Open Belgian Championships
Brasschaat, near Antwerp, Belgium
21-23 April 2006

 

The Pencak Silat Federation of the UK (PSF UK) sent a small team to participate in the Open Belgian Championships, hosted by the Bond Pencak Silat Belgie (BPSB).

Some 77 competitors from 9 countries (Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, Singapore and the UK) took part in these Championships. As in previous Belgian Open Championships, only Tanding (fighting) contests were held, with no Seni (Arts) categories included.

The guests of honour attending the opening ceremony included Bapak Julang Pujianto from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to Belgium, a Representative of the Russian Embassy in Belgium and Mr George Fredrikzs, President of the European Pencak Silat Federation.
